All three doubles teams have played their first matches.

The Doubles A and B teams clashed in the first division on 22.09.21. After some very close games, the A team came away with an 8-1 victory.

The Doubles C team played their first match against Rode Racqueteers on 23.09.21 and achieved a decisive 6-3 victory.

Well done to all the Chippenham 23 players who entered the Wiltshire Restricted Tournament on 26th September. The standard of play shown by our club was excellent and our players reached semi-finals in all five disciplines. The tournament provided some great action photos - see below and there are more on the gallery page!

Sheldon Sports Hall recently changed their court booking procedure to require  payment in advance and we also need to pay for all the badminton England memberships for the year - so if you haven't yet paid your membership fees for the year please do this as soon as possible so that we have the funds to meet our costs! If you have any queries about payment please contact Chris Weston, club treasurer who will be happy to help.

The selection committee met last night to confirm the teams for the coming season. We are entering 3 teams in the 4/2 mixed league and 3 teams in the level doubles league as follows:

Mixed 4/2 A Team : Jack Agnew (Captain), Ed Thorn, Sam Barber, Steve Hulbert, Bex Heaton, Claire Gwilliam

Mixed 4/2 B Team: Kingsley Smith (Captain), Chris Weston, Rich Grainger, Tom Clancy, Hannah Laister, Lauren Chittenden

Mixed 4/2 C Team: Joe Fung, Ollie Rew, Steve Pengelly, Lisa Sandford, Lauren Shepherd

Many thanks to Jack Agnew for volunteering to be the new fixture secretary after Derek Lamb left to move back up North. Derek had been a member of Chippenham 23 for twenty five years so he will be missed, but we're sure Jack will take the role in his stride.
